cold tofu salad

Whether you're looking for something cool and refershign when it's too hot to cook, or need an easy weeknight meal, this tofu dish is super quick and easy to make! My roommate, fashion icon Derek Lam, and I used to make this all the time in college!

(Serves 2)


Silken tofu
Garlic scapes or scallion, finely chopped
Toasted sesame seeds
2 Tbsp neutral oil
1 Tbsp dark soy sauce
1 Tbsp light soy sauce
Fresh toppings — I have cucumber ribbons, radish slices, tomatoes, pickled lotus root (see previous Reel) and kohlrabi
1 Tbsp chili oil (optional)

  • Drain your tofu and sprinkle with chopped garlic scapes (or scallion) and sesame seeds. 

  • Heat up the oil for 1-2 minutes and pour it over the tofu and toppings for that light ‘cook’ and sizzle. Drizzle both soy sauces, add your fresh toppings, and chili oil (If using) Enjoy!
